I've always liked challenges, and a while back I did a challenge blog to see if you could makeover a newbie avi with 100L or under. Its really not too much of a challenge, given that so many designers do fabulous group gifts and often, the groups are free to join. All you need to do is start exploring and checking out others profiles for cool groups to join. Blogs are a great help in figuring out where things are free or where sales are going on, and lately, with the popularity of shopping events and discount groups (The Designer Circle, The Dressing Room Fusion, and The Chapter Four, Collab88 all come to mind) there are plenty of low priced and high quality items you can find. You can easily bypass the old freebie areas and find some good quality stuff. For example, the entire avi above cost 20L to style.. just the cost of the dress and the eyes I found at the Cart Sale at The Wash;) The hair was free from !Diva Hair as a group gift, the skin was free at Fab Free Station, from Lumae, and lovely ... along with the shoes (shown below). Even the shape, yes folks, bear with my shameless plug for my store, .love. shapes, is free to all, no group join needed.
I guess really no one has an excuse to walk around looking dated. Just a little bit of searching, some good blogs to point you in the right direction, and that 20L can go a long way :)
